IMAGE ARMOR CONTINUES RESEARCH INTO UV STABILIZATION OF DIRECT TO GARMENT PRETREATMENTS
Image Armor is continuing to striving and improve our Direct To Garment pretreatments and other products. This includes going to some extremes that other companies don’t so we can continue to help our customers achieve the BEST DTG prints they can produce. Recently we upgraded our research and development department to include an expanded accelerated UV light testing environment.
One of the problems with most DTG pretreatments is that when a 100% cotton garment is pretreated for DTG printing is UV discoloration. Now, many times this will not be noticeable due to the fact that the darker colored garments will not reveal the UV discoloration due to the color of the shirt itself. However, on lighter colored garment where a white ink pretreatment has been used, if the shirt and pretreated area are exposed to direct sunlight prior to washing, the pretreated area will UV discolor. This can be plainly seen on the shirt itself.
However, if the customer simply washes the shirt prior to wearing it in direct sunlight this UV discoloration is typically negated or dramatically diminished. This is what has led us to our TITANIUM pretreatment that will NOT discolor when exposed to direct sunlight prior to washing.
However, in our quest to continue improving our DTG pretreatments and to find out the WHYs as to what happens in DTG printing we have expanded our testing facility so we can facilitate accelerated UV exposure tests to see how new chemistry and components react.
This is what we do at Image Armor – Continue pushing the boundaries of what is possible with DTG so we can share it with the world. #dtg #imagearmor #pretreatment #directtogarment #UV #Research
